As of November 2025, Namm Plaza Upgrade has been uprooting concrete and other building materials for over a year.
Sections of the building have been removed, and tarp has been overlaid on openings facing the Atrium courtyards.
The age of the building makes it more than likely that asbestos was extensively used during its original construction.
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF . . .
...disturbed materials were never properly tested for asbestos
...dust from construction was making students sick
...asbestos abatement was scheduled to take place on weekdays during school hours, for up to a year
...we had no idea how much asbestos may have been released since construction began
...the school had a history of health and safety problems dating back almost twenty years
...the people responsible for our health kept telling us everything was fine?
